Pine Hill Cemetery was built in 1842 due to the need for more burial lots.  The Mechanic Street Cemetery (Old Burying Ground) was filling up.  The Mechanic Street Cemetery was the first cemetery in Westfield and contains the early settlers of Westfield.

Pine Hill Cemetery is a garden style cemetery and contains a significant number of veterans and other burials.  For example, there are 313 veterans of the American Civil War interred at Pine Hill Cemetery.

There many hazardous monuments, significant number of historic value, leaners, in fragments, etc.  A lot of historic and beautiful Victorian marble, many sandstone obelisks, and more!
