“Green Hill Cemetery is Greensboro's oldest actively-used public cemetery, established around 1877, with many earlier burials.  Its 51-acres and ~19,000 burial plots are managed by the City of Greensboro Parks & Recreation Department. 

Friends of Green Hill Cemetery (FoGHC) is a small, all-volunteer group 
formed in 2009 to offer historical tours,  botanical tours,  gravestone conservation, raise funds for cemetery enhancements, and encourage 
​respectful respite for all who visit.“
