Rose Hill Cemetery was established for the operatives of Piedmont Manufacturing Co. in 1876. Piedmont Manufacturing was one of the largest textile mills in the world. (learn more about Piedmont Manufacturing here!) One of the prominent burials was Albert Smith Rowell and his family. He served as a postmaster, mill supervisor, and editor for the town newspaper.
Rose Hill has over 2,000 burials and still continues to offer an affordable burial location for the Piedmont community. The headstones and burial markers found at Rosehill are very diverse! Check the Find A Grave to learn more.
