The info below is taken from the White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church website regarding the 300th Anniversary that they celebrated in 2021 and 2022

“In 2021 and 2022 we celebrated 300 years of following Christ in faith, hope, and love in Newark, Delaware!  God’s graciousness has been evident as the history of White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church is a story of a people enjoying the presence of a loving God. The history of WCCPC is intertwined with the history of Newark, that of Delaware as a colony and then as the first state, and the growth of the University of Delaware.

Our celebration included a Memorial Day Ceremony on May 30, 2021 to honor our veterans by marking the graves of the many veterans buried in the White Clay Creek Cemetery and remembering those who have served from our church and community. Veterans from the Revolutionary War to Vietnam are found in the cemetery.  You can still enjoy this great write-up with many pictures by Josh Shannon in the Newark Post.  Also, check out these links to the talks given by our featured speaker Bill Conley about Revolutionary War events near White Clay Creek and our own Prof. Jeff Jordan on the early history of the church and its intersection in the Revolutionary War on our 300th Anniversary blog.”
