Burlingame was established by abolitionists during the Kansas Territorial period and there are many stones in need of some TLC! There are a number of 1st and 2nd Kansas veterans of the Civil War, several markers for men who served as officers in the USCT regiment, and a grave marking a veteran from the War of 1812.
