“The Pioneer Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in South Central Kentucky and the first public burial ground in Warren County. Notable burials include historic military officials and Reverend Joseph Lapsley, a friend of President Thomas Jefferson's and founder the the Presbyterian Church in Bowling Green in 1819. Pioneer is the original location of the church. Kinlock is one of the oldest private estates in Warren County. The house was originally built by a Revolutionary War soldier circa 1814, modified by Rumsey Skiles in 1842. The grave cover on site is one of the oldest private cemeteries in South Central Kentucky, but it is in need of significant repair.”
