Cemetery Background/Info
The cemetery is intrinsically linked to the development of Slatersville as America's first mill village, established by John Slater and partners beginning in 1807.
John Whipple Slater (1852-1924):A prominent member of the family that developed the Slatersville mill industry, son of William Smith Slater.
William Smith Slater(1817-1882): Son of John Slater (one of the founders of the village).
Elisha Bartlett (1804-1855): A noted physician and politician born in Smithfield, Rhode Island, who served as a Whig and was the first mayor of Lowell, Massachusetts.
